When life
feels heavy
You might be getting through your days, doing what's expected of you, but finding very little enjoyment or energy in it. Things that once felt manageable may now take much more effort.
Depression and ongoing low mood don't always feel like sadness. You might feel emotionally flat, irritable, overwhelmed or disconnected from yourself and the people around you.
Perhaps you've been trying to push through, hoping things will improve, while quietly wondering how to feel more like yourself again.
You may recognise:
Finding it difficult to enjoy things that once mattered to you.
Feeling exhausted, unmotivated or struggling to get started.
Withdrawing from others or feeling disconnected even when you're with people.
Becoming increasingly self-critical, discouraged or overwhelmed by everyday demands.
Struggling with concentration, decision-making or finding a sense of direction.
Depression can have many contributing factors, including physical health, life circumstances, stress and emotional experiences. Understanding what's happening for you, and finding support that fits your needs, can be an important step towards reconnecting with your life.
I'm Corinne Nijjer, a clinical hypnotherapist with a background in social work and training in EMDR and NLP.
When we begin working together, we'll explore what you've been experiencing, how it's affecting your everyday life and what you've already tried. Depression can affect people in very different ways, so I don't assume there's one explanation or one approach that works for everyone.
Depending on your needs, our sessions may include clinical hypnotherapy, guided imagery, therapeutic conversations and practical strategies.
We might explore difficult emotional responses, long-standing beliefs or patterns of self-criticism that have been affecting how you feel about yourself and your life.
We'll also look at what moving forward means for you. That might involve rebuilding confidence, reconnecting with relationships and interests, finding more motivation or beginning to experience greater emotional steadiness.
This isn't about forcing yourself to be positive or expecting everything to change overnight. It's about exploring meaningful changes at a pace that takes your individual circumstances into account.
Because depression can be complex, I also recognise the importance of other forms of support. Where appropriate, our work can complement care from your GP, psychologist or other mental health professional.
I offer this work through my Leading Minds Breakthrough Method, a personalised one-to-one program typically involving weekly sessions over 10–12 weeks, with practices and resources to support you between sessions.
How I work with depression and
low mood
Everyone's experience is different. Here's what Melissa shared about working with me.
“I’m so grateful I found Corinne. I came to her at a time when I felt truly stuck, and from the moment I walked in, she made me feel warm, welcome and completely safe. Her genuine, honest and compassionate nature allowed me to open up and trust the process, even though hypnotherapy was new to me.
I left each session feeling lighter, more hopeful and with a renewed sense of direction.”
